Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users

Posted by on Jan 26, 2015 in Latest News |

In Redmond on Tuesday, Microsoft operating system chief Terry Myerson announced that current users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free for one year after the operating system launches. Once you’ve claimed the upgrade, Microsoft will keep you updated for the supported lifetime of the device. “We think of Windows 10 as a service,” Myerson said. This excludes Enterprise versions. You’ll need Software assurance to get that upgrade. Your existing OS will need to be updated to the latest Service Pack , and connected to the Internet to get the free upgrade. This should hopefully weed out the many illegal products out there in the wild. The free upgrade will be available for 1 year. We have been testing Windows 10 for a while and I think it has just the right mix of all the good windows 8 features without loosing our familiar windows 7 habits. The start bar is better than ever and you can have lots of different desktops. A good article: http://www.cnet.com/au/products/microsoft-windows-10/ Enjoy,...
